It is well established that the Lamborghini Aventador is one of the world’s fastest accelerating cars, particularly thanks to its potent launch control system dubbed ‘Thrust Mode’. Just how does the Aventador Roadster compare to a Porsche 918 Spyder off the line however?
Well the two recently hit the drag strip together and the race was unsurprisingly close and undeniably intense. Despite the Aventador Roadster featuring all-wheel drive, it looses traction and kicks up some serious tyres smoke as if it was rear-wheel drive.
The Porsche 918 Spyder by comparison, gets off the line with little fuss and for the first 50 metres of so, is just behind the Aventador. Before long, the additional 187 hp of the 918 comes into play as it pulls away from the Italian beast.
Even though the 918 may have won the drag race, it was barely audible compared to the screaming 6.5-litre V12 of the Aventador!
