Fisker Renamed to Karma Automotive

The plug-in hybrid automaker formerly known as Fisker Automotive has been officially rebranded Karma Automotive. This comes despite a previous announcement that the company’s new Chinese owners, Wanxiang, would rename the marque ‘Elux’.

Alongside the new name, Karma Automotive has understandably received a brand new company logo. Regarding the logo, the company said in a statement “An imperfect right, representing constant effort towards unattainable perfection, encircling the earth. With a spark of sun, the eternal symbol of endless renewable energy. Inner cut lines represent our three brand priorities: Beautiful, Clean, Memorable.”

Additionally, Karma has announced that its relaunched hybrid sedan should launch sometime next year.

Beyond relaunching the Fisker Karma, Wanxiang has previously confirmed that it hopes to introduce a second model to join the Karma in three years. While chairman of Wanxiang Lu Guanqiu hasn’t provided any specific details about what the model will be, it will most likely utilise a similar plug-in hybrid powertrain as the Karma.
