According to reports, a production version of the Bentley Grand Convertible Concept will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2016. The car will essentially be a drop-top version of the Bentley Mulsanne and directly rival the recently introduced Rolls-Royce Dawn.

Specific details about the road-going Mulsanne Grand Convertible remain unclear but given how production ready the concept was, we don’t expect many changes. While recently speaking with Automobile Magazine, Bentley’s chief executive Wolfgang Durheimer revealed that some Bentley dealerships are already accepting orders for the car.

“We have some important customers that are waiting for this car. It will be very exciting for us to have this car on the market. I think it fits very well and we are keen to do it,” he said.

The original concept features the same 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine as the existing Mulsanne. This potent powertrain delivers 530 hp and a righteous 811 lb-ft of torque without breaking a sweat. What this power results in is supple and impressive acceleration.
