The second-even Salon Prive auction held in collaboration with Silverstone Auctions over the weekend saw £5 million worth of cars sold.

The top spot was claimed by a 1968 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage Volante which shifted hands for £900,000, an impressive £75,000 over its lower estimate. The DB6 is finished in a special shade of California Sage Green complete with a contrasting natural tan hide interior.

Two impressive limited-edition 997-generation Porsche 911s also sold impressively at the auction. A 2011 GT3 RS 4.0 changed hands for £281,250 while one of just 16 right-hand drive GT2 RS models in the United Kingdom achieved £315,000.

On an Italian front, there was a 1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV painted in Blue Scuro that sold for £185,000 while a 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello sold for £110,250.

Discussing the results, managing director of Silverstone Auctions Nick Whale said “The Salon Privé Sale is one of our headline sales of the year – it has been a true pleasure to return to this superb event and sell some of the most iconic and desirable modern and classic cars. Silverstone Auctions is a leader in Seventies, Eighties and Nineties classics – exactly the cars that received the highest prices of the night.”
