Ferrari F12 Versione Speciale spy shot

A second image of the Ferrari F12 Versione Speciale snapped completely undisguised at the marque’s Italian factory has just been posted online. Whereas the first image showed off the vehicle’s side and part of its rear, this image solely shows the rear fascia.

Compared to the standard F12, the Versione Speciale tipped to debut at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 features a number of aerodynamic and visual modifications. For starters, the rear now includes a prominent black accent joining the two circular taillights.

Elsewhere, modified quad exhaust pipes are visible as are different exhaust surrounds, a more aggressive and less curvaceous rear bumper as well as a modified rear diffuser. We can also make out a modified glass rear window featuring small cutouts on either side. The Formula One inspired central rear light has also been repositioned.

The specifications for the Ferrari F12 Versione Speciale are not public knowledge. However, we hear that it will be a naturally-aspirated machine, powered by a 6.3-litre V12 engine. It will almost certainly produce around 800 hp, some are suggesting it could use the HY-KERS system developed for the LaFerrari. It should weigh approximately 1,415 kg thanks to a 100 kg weight reduction. Just 650 copies will be produced and should land on customers driveways in Spring 2016.
