Testing of the BMW M2 is continuing and rather surprisingly, the German marque has yet to confirm the existence of the new car let alone started to release teasers of it. Nevertheless, it is reported that the new sports car will debut at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 in September.

Beneath the skin, the M2 is tipped to be powered by a brand new 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine delivering a total of 365 hp and 342 lb-ft of torque. Alongside these new power and torque figures, it is suggested that the BMW M2 will feature a torque overboost system which sees twisting power bumped up to 368 lb-ft. What these figures mean is that the BMW M2 will have at its disposal an extra 44 hp over the already brisk BMW M235i. Both a six-speed manual transmission and eight-speed dual-clutch automatic ‘box are tipped to be offered.
Elsewhere it is reported that the BMW M2 will be offered with four different colours from launch; Alpine White, Long Beach Blue metallic, Mineral Grey metallic and Black Sapphire metallic. Additional colours will inevitably be available through the BMW Individual program.
From a visual standpoint, the BMW M2 will adopt a traditionally aggressive BMW M bodykit. With that in mind, it will include a bold front fascia and bumper package while the rear-end will be notable for its inclusion of a pronounced diffuser and quad tailpipes.
