While customer deliveries of the sixth-generation 2016 Chevrolet Camaro have yet to commence, a bright yellow 2016 Camaro SS has just been snapped on the street. The sighting of this Camaro comes just a few short weeks after the new Camaro was unveiled to the world back in the middle of May.
As it stands, the Camaro SS is the most powerful and fastest version of the American muscle car offered. It features the same 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated LT1 V8 engine as the current Corvette Stingray therefore delivering an equal 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque.
The suspension setup includes Magnetic Ride Control with active suspension. An all-new Drive Mode Selector tailors up to eight vehicle attributes for four modes: Snow/Ice, Tour, Sport and – exclusively for SS models – Track settings.
As for braking, the Camaro SS gets Brembo brakes measuring 13.6-inch (345 mm) front rotors with four-piston fixed calipers and 13.3-inch (338 mm) rear rotors with four-piston fixed calipers.
