Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

Sources have confirmed that the Jeep Grand Cherokee will become the latest car from Chrysler’s portfolio to receive its potent 707 hp Hellcat V8 engine from the Dodge Challenger and Charger models.

Following a recent name trademark, the car is tipped to be dubbed the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Mated to its 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine will be an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission driving all four wheels. As a result of its all-wheel drive, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk could actually prove faster than both the Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models in a straight line.

As a matter of fact, the Trackhawk could become the world’s quickest SUV with a 0-96 km/h sprint time of less than 3 seconds as well as a 320 km/h top speed.

The car is currently being developed under the ‘Project K’ codename and it is reported that the first test mules have already commenced testing. The car should launch for the 2017 model year.
