Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster confirmed

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2015, Lamborghini has confirmed that an Aventador LP750-4 Roadster is being developed to sit alongside the SV coupe. This comes of little surprise considering a Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster prototype was spied in the midst of testing not too long ago.

Unlike the Aventador SV hardtop which is limited to 600 units, just 500 examples of the Aventador SV Roadster will be produced.

Discussing the car at Goodwood, Lamborghini president and chief executive Stephan Winkelmann said “The Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce is the most pure, sports-oriented and emotional incarnation of a Lamborghini, and all 600 units have been sold, with first deliveries starting now. We will also produce a roadster version, which our dealers worldwide are now taking orders for”.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV Roadster will inevitably remain mechanically identical to the standard coupe model. As a result, power from its 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine will be lifted from 690 hp to 740 hp. Additionally, 50 kg can be expected to be saved over the current Aventador Roadster. Consequently, the Aventador SV Roadster should reach 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, the same as the coupe.
