After debuting at the Geneva Motor Show 2015, British pricing for the brand new Honda Civic Type R has just been released.

When sales commence this coming July, the new Honda Civic Type R will set buyers back a minimum of 29,995 pounds for the base model. That price will increase to 32,295 pounds for the Civic Type R GT Edition will includes a plethora of new features focusing on safety and comfort.

For example, the GT Edition includes a blind-spot monitoring system, forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, dual zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, rain sensing auto windscreen wipers, Honda’s new and improved infotainment system as well as dusk sensing auto headlights and a GARMIN navigation system.

To put the Honda Civic Type R’s price into perspective, the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG for which the Civic Type R was benchmarked against costs 38,195 pounds. More similar in price to the Honda is the Volkswagen Golf R which starts at 30,150 pounds.

As a reminder, the 2015 Honda Civic Type R uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine which is turbocharged and consequently delivers 306 hp. This means the car will launch itself from 0-96 km/h in a handsome 5.7-seconds. What’s even more impressive is the speed at which the Type R can be pushed to. This front-wheel-drive Japanese speed machine will not stop until 269 km/h!
