Volkswagen Sport Coupe GTE Concept Teased for Geneva

Volkswagen Passat

A couple of design sketches of a new Volkswagen Passat concept to debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2015 have been released. The name of the car remains unclear but it has apparently been created to preview a Volkswagen rival to the Mercedes-Benz CLS.

From the images, it is immediately apparent that the new VW concept shares many of its traits with the existing Passat sedan. With that being said, the design is significantly sleeker and more athletic with a heavily tapered rear window one of the most eye-catching elements.

Elsewhere, the car features an exceptionally wide front grille which stretches across to the aggressive headlights and down towards the bold air intakes. Prominently flared front wheel arches are also featured and immediately capture the eye.

Powering the new Geneva bound Volkswagen concept will be a turbocharged petrol engine mated to two electric motors.
