For the better part of a decade, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 has been one of the world’s fastest production cars and in Super Sport specification, it is indeed the world’s fastest. Compared to the latest crop of hybrid hypercars however, the Veyron is beginning to show its age. So how do you think it’d perform against the much newer and slightly less powerful Ferrari LaFerrari?

Well the following video shows a drag race between the pairing and the result may actually surprise you. On paper, the Bugatti Veyron has the horsepower advantage with a total of 987 hp beneath the skin compared to the LaFerrari’s 950 hp. However, the LaFerrari weighs over 600 kg less than the Veyron giving it a better power-to-weight ratio.
