Facelifted Jaguar XJ Spied Testing

Facelifted Jaguar XJ

A new prototype for the facelifted Jaguar XJ has been spied testing with almost no camouflage hiding the limited changes.

This particular test mule is sporting new headlights which are covered in black tape. It also features a revised front bumper as well as different air intakes and a slightly modified front grille. As is typically the case, we expect all variants of the existing Jaguar XJ to be made available in facelifted form meaning a new Jaguar XJR will arrive in the not too distant future.

GTspirit review of Jaguar XJR

In case you didn’t know, the current 2014 Jaguar XJR features Jaguar’s signature engine, the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine. In the XJR this engine delivers 550 hp at 6500 rpm and 680 Nm of torque between 2,500 and 5,500 rpm, Up 40 hp and 55 Nm of torque compared to the XJ Supersports. With the uprated engine and the optimized setup of the 8-speed ZF gearbox the XJR propels from 0-100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and continues to an electronically limited top speed of 280 km/h.

As for the facelifted, range-topping 2015 Jaguar XJR we expect it to not only adopt some visual and aerodynamic changes but some small performance upgrades as well.
