We’ve already showed you a video of Ferrari testing the hardcore, track-focused LaFerrari XX on the track, but now thanks to a sharp-eyed GTspirit reader we have some still images of the new Italian hypercar from its big day out at Monza as well.
Ferrari’s LaFerrari XX will be a stripped-out, lightened version of the standard road car, just like what the FXX was to the Enzo. But unlike the FXX, the LaFerrari XX probably won’t see a power boost over the standard road car. Head of Ferrari’s Sporting Activity Department, Antonello Coletta, said the car won’t benefit much from a power boost as the near 1000 horsepower output from the LaFerrari is already enough. Instead, Maranello will improve the LaFerrari’s handling with weight-saving measures, more downforce, improved aerodynamics, slick tires, new suspension and retuned traction and stability systems.
The LaFerrari produces 963 horsepower and 900Nm of torque from its 6.3-litre V12 petrol engine and pair of electric motors, resulting in a 0-100 km/h time of less than 3 seconds, 0-300 km/h in 15 seconds and a top speed in excess of 350 km/h, figures which may improve when the XX model arrives. Ferrari fans might have some waiting to do though, as the LaFerrari XX is slated for a 2015 debut, making the Geneva Motor Show in March a likely candidate for its unveiling.
