Mercedes-Benz S-Class Convertible Spied Testing

We’ve known for a long time now that Mercedes-Benz has been working on an S-Class Cabriolet. Now the very first spy shots of such a car have been published and there’s no debating the fact what is hiding behind the heavy black camouflage.

This particular Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet was spotted in Germany and confirms that the car will be a four-seater. Just like the standard S-Class sedan as well as the S-Class Coupe, the Cabriolet will be available with a host of different engines including a twin-turbocharged V12 engine delivering about 523 hp. However it remains unclear if S 63 AMG or S 65 AMG versions will be offered but it is very likely they will.

Possibly the first S-Class Cabriolet variant to be introduced will be the S 500. Likely to remain mechanically identical to the S 500 Coupe, the car would feature a 4.6-liter biturbo V8 engine delivering a total of 455 hp and 700 Nm of torque.

Additionally, as with the sedan and coupe, the S-Class Cabriolet will be available with a host of luxury systems including Pre-Safe brake with pedestrian detection, Distronic Plus with Steer Assist and Stop&Go Pilot, Bas Plus with junction assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive high-beam Assist Plus and Night View Assist Plus.
