Next-Generation 2016 Nissan GT-R Gets Rendered

While development of the 2016 Nissan GT-R is ongoing, prototypes have yet to hit the road meaning we genuinely have no idea how the Japanese supercar will look. Nevertheless, X-Tomi Design took it upon himself to create the following renderings of how the next-generation GT-R could look.

Drawing inspiration from the Nissan Sports Sedan revealed at the Detroit Motor Show 2014 recently while maintaining similar lines and design elements of the current Nissan GT-R, the design is certainly unique albeit somewhat unrealistic.

While we can’t comment on how the new GT-R will look, we do at least have confirmation as to its powertrain. It will be a hybrid with the Japanese automaker recently registering both the Race Hybrid and R-Hybrid names set to debut on the next-generation Nissan GT-R.”

When previously speaking about the electrification of the 2016 Nissan GT-R, Palmer said, “There is an inevitability about electrification of all cars in the future, and there is the very real prospect of enhancements coming from it on a sports car like the Nissan GT-R. The electric systems can fill in the gaps in the torque curve and offer genuine performance gains, as well as lowering emissions. It’s win-win, and I’d expect to see some form of hybridisation on the next generation of car.”
