Flagship Cadillac Sedan Spied Testing

New spyshots have emerged showcasing the upcoming Cadillac flagship sedan testing for the very first time. It is rumoured that the upcoming Cadillac flagship will draw on the gorgeous Cadillac Elmiraj Concept for design inspiration.

Set to compete against the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A7 and the BMW 7-Series, the Cadillac flagship sedan, currently codenamed 01SL, is based on the rear-wheel drive Omega platform from General Motors. As these spyshots show, the car has a supremely long wheelbase and from a design standpoint, maintains the traditional lines of Cadillacs from recent years.

The traditional Cadillac chrome grille can be seen up front as well as vertical LED daytime running lights similar to those utilised on the ATS, CTS and XTS.

It remains unclear just what will power the Cadillac 01SL. However, some reports suggest that it won’t receive the 4.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine from the Elmiraj Concept and instead come standard with a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 to deliver around 410 hp. However, further down the road, additional engines options could become available including a range-topping V8 unit.

Cadillac recently trademarked the LTS badge, so the car you are looking at could very well be called the Cadillac LTS. While it is currently unclear when the car will launch, a price tag above $70,000 isn’t out of the question.
