Rolls-Royce Wraith Drophead Coupe to Attract Younger Buyers

Rolls-Royce has recommitted that a Rolls-Royce Wraith Drophead Coupe is indeed in the works. Despite this, Rolls-Royce boss Torsten Müller-Ötvös revealed that the car is still a few years away.

More specifically, Müller-Ötvös said it will hit the market sometime in 2015 and will obviously be inspired by the current Rolls-Royce Wraith coupe and the Phantom Drophead Coupe.

Rolls-Royce hopes that through the creation of a Rolls-Royce Wraith Drophead Coupe, the average age of buyers will be lowered while also increasing interest in the company.

“The early signs with the Wraith are that it is achieving all our goals,” said Müller-Ötvös. “Most importantly, the reviews are very positive. The car delivers on the promises we made. We are also seeing that early orders are bringing in customers who haven’t bought a Rolls-Royce before and who perhaps wouldn’t have considered one.

“We have already had customers who own Ferraris come to us and place orders. They are not replacing their Ferraris, but they now see an alternative option, where they can travel quickly and with the ultimate luxury. That is very promising.”
