F1 driver Lewis Hamilton will be the celebrity guest at the season finale of DTM in Hockenheim come October 20th. This comes at a time when most racing series are biding goodbye to the 2013 season. And despite the championship titles having been won in the previous round, this will still be a race to watch out for as most drivers will look to extend their legacy in a “no-holds barred” type of race.

Hamilton is no stranger to DTM and will be driving a Mercedes-Benz DTM ‘taxi’. The star took part in the Formula 3 Euro Series which supports the DTM weekend between 2004 and 2005. He competed in 20 races, standing on the podium 17 times and scoring 15 victories with the Mercedes-Benz Formula 3 engine so he has first hand knowledge of the environment.

This is what he said;

“I’m really looking forward to my visit to the DTM finale at Hockenheim and my return to the DTM paddock. I’m in racing kart part of the Mercedes-Benz family since the beginning of my career in motorsport and I have worked myself into in my two years Formula 3 Euro Series at the DTM felt very comfortable.

DTM is a highly professional racing series with incredibly enthusiastic viewers and making it the perfect environment for young riders to take the first steps in their career. I associate with my time in the DTM very nice Memories and am excited to see many familiar faces in Hockenheim paddock again.”
