2015 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Confirmed for L.A Debut

It has been confirmed that the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG will make its world debut at next month’s Los Angeles Auto Show 2013. Following on from this, the S600 will debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January.

Revealing the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG in L.A. makes a lot of sense as Newport Beach in California is home to the most-successful AMG dealer in the country.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG

Under the hood, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is expected to be powered by the same engine as the mighty Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG. That means a mighty twin-turbocharged V12 engine pushing out an impressive 621hp and 738lb-ft of torque. When fitted in the CL65 AMG, the car can hit 60mph in just 4.3 seconds, and we predict the S65 AMG to just be a little bit slower due to its extra weight.

Based on our recent drive of the incredible 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG, we can’t begin to imagine how great the S65 AMG will be!
