It’s hard to believe that the Porsche Carrera GT is now nine years old. It’s beautiful design and styling mean that supercar has aged very well and the Carrera GT is almost guaranteed to be a future classic. That bring us neatly onto this stunning silver example that is on sale in San Francisco. The brown leather interior matches the silver resulting in possibly the prettiest combination on the car. With just 3,970 miles from new and a new clutch installed just 800 miles ago as part of meticulous maintenance program, this Carrera GT is a fine example and has a price to match the quality.
$369,000 will buy you this gorgeous Porsche. The is also a technological masterpiece. The 5.7litre V10 howls and shrieks to 8,400rpm and will produce a ludicrous 605bhp! The curb weight is little over 3,000lbs and this huge power and low weight means the Carrera GT will hit 60mph in just 3.6 seconds. This is a real drivers cars and this is reflected in the transmission, a 6-speed manual, two plate ceramic dry clutch gearbox. No automatic in sight! We love the 918 Spyder that will be replacing the Carrera GT as the next Porsche supercar but will always have a soft spot for the old car.
I have made it a personal resolution to if not buy, ride in one of these to feel its power. R.I.P Paul walker.
