The headline of Mercedes-Benz at IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2013 is undoubtedly the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupé Concept. Due to replace the ageing CL-Class in the very near future, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupé Concept will almost certinaly reach production. We sent a photographer over for a closer look!
At the front, the S-Class Coupe Concept incorporates a diamond front grille with the traditional three-pointed star badge. It also features full-LED headlights with LED daytime running lights. While the S-Class Coupe Concept may feature the S-Class nameplate, it shares almost no common design elements with the standard S-Class sedan. The S-Class Coupe Concept features a long bonnet complete with distinctive lines and power domes. The car sits on a set of 21-inch wheels measuring 265/35 R 21 at the front and 295/35 R 21 at the rear.
Most importantly, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe Concept is powered by a V8 Bi-Turbo engine delivering a total of 455hp from its 4.7-liter displacement. Peak output is then rated at 700Nm. While this new powerplant certainly is impressive, it’s arguably overshone by the numerous other technical components of the car.
