The 100th Audi race car, an Audi R8 LMS ultra was handed over to racing team MS Racing who are the current ADAC GT Masters Champions; it was handed over to them by quattro GmbH from Heilbronn-Biberach, a facility of the Neckarsulm location. The number 100 symbolizes the success of this program of developing the Audi R8 LMS for customer teams and was launched back in 2009.
The Audi R8 LMS Ultra is the third evolution of the GT3 model, as for the United States, a Grand-AM version is available and it won the GT Class at the 24 Hours of Daytona in January. quattro GmbH counts 18 championship titles plus endurance victories at the major 24-hour races on the Nürburgring, at Spa, Daytona and Zolder with the car which is heavily based on the production model, the Audi R8.They say they are expanding their market for the car to Australia, Asia, Europe, North and South America.
