The second round of the Australian GT Championship took place last weekend, presented by Pirelli race at the Clipsal 500. The Australian GT Championship is a CAMS-sanctioned national title for drivers of GT cars and since its revival in 2005; it has adopted rules similar to those of the FIA GT3. In this year’s second round, Craig Baird of the Erebus Motorsport GT emerged the winner while racing in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3.
Reigning champion Klark Quinn in a Porsche 911 GT3-R finished the round second with Roger Lago in a Lamborghini LP560 GT3 finishing in 3rd. Ex F1 star Christian Klien finished 4th in the second of the Erebus AMG SLS’s, setting a new lap record in the process. The video below shows the highlights of this second round.
