A seemingly cash-strapped ex-South African police officer recently had his selection of 25 exotic vehicles seized by local authorities, as well as his $2.8 million mansion and $12.9 million worth of other property after continued investigations into the South African and his apparently rich wife.
Police officers in South Africa only earn $1,700 per month and that’s when this particular case begins to get interesting. The wife of Subusiso Mpisane, Shauwn Mpisane is part of a much bigger scandal which involves her construction company reportedly submitting falsified information to gain over $15.7 million in government contracts.
Shauwn was then convicted of tax fraud in 2011 helping to spark the downfall of the Mpisane couple. Cars seized from Subusiso’s mirror-door, showroom like garage included a Rolls-Royce Ghost, and Phantom Drophead, Maserati GranCabrio, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, Porsche Cayenne Turbo and two armoured BMW 5-Series sedans. Police also hope to seize two Lamborghini’s owned by the ex-cop, but they were unable to be recovered in the first seize.
