It seems that BMW will enter the supercar market afterall! Having stood back and watched Audi’s successes with the R8, BMW will now get involved. It’s being reported that BMW will resurrect the M1 in spirit for 2016, the centenary year for the BMW brand.
Nothing is reported as certain yet, however, M-Division Chief Friedrich Nitschke is keen to make the V8 supercar a reality. The final decision will have to be taken by BMW’s Chairman Norbert Reithofer who apparently has mixed feelings about the BMW M8 project.
Of course, you might remember our earlier video about a previously ditched attempt to bring the BMW M8 dream into fruition. That car made use of the same V12 engine found inside the McLaren F1.
Would it be a fitting way to celebrate 100 years of the BMW brand?

well i cant wait for that one either….
I CANT WAIT. but doubt it will be called M8. bmw have already registered the name M10
M10 sounds good..sounds better anyway…
The styling is a little bland. Just looks like an m3 that’s been squashed in PhotoShop. How about giving it some unique character BMW????
