Audi released official details of the Audi RS5 Cabriolet today, it will be official released at the Paris Motor Show. It features the same 4.2 liter V8 FSI engine combined with the lightweight cloth soft top common to the rest of the A5 Cabriolet range. The car was unveiled via a special website today, the first time that Audi has released a new model in such a way.

The RS5 Cabriolet features the same 4.2 liter V8 as the facelifted RS5 Coupe producing 450hp at 8,250rpm and 430Nm of torque between 4,000 and 6,000rpm. This means it is capable of zero to 100km/h in just 4.9 seconds with a top speed limited to 250km/h optionally increased to 280km/h. The Cabriolet gets a dual-clutch seven-speed S tronic gearbox, complete with launch control. A sport differential is available as an option.

The Audi RS5 Cabriolet gets a hexagonal single-frame grille with a matt aluminum trim surround, xenon plus lamps and a set of LED daytime running lights. The door mirror housings get an aluminum look, the rear gets a larger diffuser and the boot lid adds a matt carbon spoiler lip. The RS5 Cabriolet is available in black, gray, red or brown with eight exterior options available including a monochrome colour, four metallic and pearl effect colours and three crystal effect paints.

The lightweight textile roof that incorporates a layer of foam for acoustic comfort. The roof takes between 15 seconds and 17 seconds to close at speeds up to 50km/h (31.07mph). With the roof down, the folded roof takes 60 liters of boot space from the RS5 Cabriolet’s 380 liter total volume. The soft top liner can be ordered in either star silver or black.

Inside you get a perforated leather, three-spoke steering wheel with flat-bottomed rim. Sport seats are available with leather, alcantara or nappa leather finishes and chrome highlights, understated high-gloss black trim and carbon inlays underscore the interior theme.

The Audi RS5 Cabriolet has an extensive option list with parking system plus, driver and front passenger seat heating, automatic belt feeder, wind deflector, lighting package, driver information system with rest recommendation and a comprehensive package of restraint systems all standard. The RS5 Cabriolet should go on sale early 2013 at a price of 88,500 euros excluding taxes for the German market.
