Lamborghini have one more special edition Gallardo to release before the current platform is retired. Car and Driver reveals that the Lamborghini designers will release one last special edition model this year, although it’s not yet clear what it will be.

The best bet is on a rear wheel drive version of the LP570-4 platform. Perhaps a Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-2 Superleggera or even a Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-2 Super Trofeo Stradale. Other possible options include a drop-top version of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-2 Super Trofeo Stradale. It’s also possible that the news simply confirms Lamborghini’s intention to reveal a customer Sesto Elemento.

We’ll have to wait until 2014 for the successor to Lamborghini’s much loved Gallardo which means that the current Gallardo range might need something to continue making it desirable. The 2014 Gallardo will feature it’s characteristic all-wheel drive system, coupled to an upgraded version of the V10 found in the current Gallardo. This engine should provide almost 600 horsepower with a dual-clutch automatic transmission to transfer that power onto the tarmac!

  1. Hopefully it won’t be another Gallardo, I love the car, but man there are way to many variations of it. Just let it go peacefully…
