Koenisegg released their upgraded version of the Koenigsegg Agera R at the Geneva Motor Show last week. Following the release of the second generation model, Gustav from M5Board.com recorded this video of Christian von Koenigsegg explaining the highlights of the improved engine.
The Agera R engine is the first production engine in the world to use nano-surfaced cylinder sleeves, from ANS, for reduced friction and fuel consumption. It also uses a new in-house developed engine management system, which provides added functionality whilst still meeting all OBD II regulations.
With the upgraded Agera 5.0 liter V8 engine the rev limiter was raised from 7,250rpm to 7,500rpm, the power increased from 940 to 960hp on 98 Ron (93 din) fuel for the Agera and from 1,115 to 1,140hp for the Agera R on E85.
