Spyshots: Ferrari California HGTE

Spyshots Ferrari California HGTE

Ferrari will unveil a HGTE package for the Ferrari California next February, Autocar spy photographers have caught the test mule out on a development run. This particular example has been spotted out on the roads before. It’s distinctive for its NACA ducts, however, it’s now thought that these won’t make it to the finished product.

The mule was spotted at Fiorano. It’s likely to be testing upgrades to steering, dampers and springs as part of a package which will make significant upgrades to the California. It’s expected that power will increase by 28hp to 483hp and torque by 15lb-ft to 372lb-ft. The California will also receive upgrades to the steering rack, making it 10 percent faster coupled with a 15 percent stiffer suspension setup.

Visually, the HGTE should get a dark chrome trim for the grille and side air vents. The whole package is expected to cost less than the HGTE upgrade offered for the 599 GTB.
