The guys at Aston Martin must think that not making new cars but new variants of yet existing cars is the solution for the economical crisis. After a convertible version of the DBS, it’s the V12 Vantage’s turn. This model has a limited production number of a 1,000 pieces and the roadster variant is said to be produced in only 500 pieces. The V12 Vantage Roadster will more than likely run on the same 6.0 liter V12 found in the coupé. It produces 517bhp together with a maximum torque of 570 Nm. The roadster will be using a canvas roof instead of a possible hard-top.
Figures are of course not known yet but you can expect it to be a little bit slower than the coupé. But still a sprint of 4.5 seconds to 62mph, isn’t bad at all! Topspeed, with a closed roof, will be around 190mph (300kmh). Expect the roadster to be ready for a public release at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
