A lightly camouflaged BMW M2 CSL prototype was recently spied tackling the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The camouflaged bits at the front and rear indicate we can expect to see some serious design changes.

The more track-focused M2 is to look significantly more aggressive than the conventional M2 and borrow an array of components from its M3 and M4 siblings. Visible in the video is the exhaust canister that looks a lot like those on both the M3 and M4 performance cars.

The M2 CSL will be powered by the same S55 six-cylinder engine but will be tuned to 400 hp. Further suspension tweaks, aerodynamic parts and possibly even optional carbon ceramic brakes are supposed to elevate the coupé’s track performance even further. All this goes accompanied by a fruitier soundtrack from the exhaust.
