This is the new BMW Alpina B4 S Bi-Turbo live from the Geneva Motor Show 2017. Based on the BMW 4 Series, the Alpina B4 S received more or less the same update as their 3 Series based B3 S Bi-Turbo.

Similarly, the 3.0-liter straight-six powering the 4 Series was fitted with two new in-house developed Alpina turbochargers. Together with an updated cooling system, the Alpina B4 S Bi-Turbo now delivers 440 hp and 660 Nm of torque, identical to the Alpina B3 S Bi-Turbo. The performance of both cars is nearly identical too, with the Alpina B4 S being 0.1 second faster than its ‘smaller’ brother in the 0-100 km/h sprint: 4.2 seconds is all it takes. The B4’s top speed is set at a staggering 306 km/h.

Completely in Alpina fashion, changes to the exterior are minimal. We recognize the tasteful 20-inch classic wheels immediately, which are also fitted to its neighboring sibling. At the show differences between both cars really are minimal, with the Alpina B4 S arguably being slightly more masculine.

Although the real changes happened under the car’s skin. A custom version of the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with Alpina SWITCH TRONIC and the optional Alpina adaptive sports suspension are just two examples of the range of upgrades Alpina installed.
