Aston Martin took the unusual step of confirming that the planned 150-unit production run of the Aston Martin Red Bull AM-RB 001 has entirely sold out. The news came via twitter on Monday morning alongside an announcement that Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing would extend its sponsorship of the Red Bull Racing program into 2017.

It remains unclear whether a planned 25-car track-only production run has also been spoken for. Aston Martin are currently looking at running development mules as early as late 2017. Customer deliveries of the AM-RB 001 are now expected to commence in early 2019.

The British sports car manufacturer has had a string of successful supercars recently, starting with the Aston Martin One-1 and the Aston martin Vulcan. The Aston Martin Red Bull AM-RB 001 will look to build upon the success of its predecessors using F1 technology coupled with Aston Martin’s road car knowledge.

The Aston Martin Red Bull AM-RB 001 promises to be the fastest and most powerful Aston Martin ever made. Initially, a 99 car production run was planned, however, this has since increased to 150. The production and engineering process will be handled by Q by Aston Martin Advanced and Red Bull Advanced Technologies.

The Aston martin Red Bull AM-RB 001 is expected to feature a naturally aspirated V12 engine. Aston Martin have indicated that they are aiming for a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio – 1 bhp per kilo. We are expecting its output to range between 900 hp and 1000 hp or more.
