A sensational teaser image was shared on Mercedes-Benz social media channels today. Bearing the Maybach badging, we can only assume that the sleek Coupe contained in the pictures is the long awaited Mercedes-Maybach concept. Far from the rumoured Maybach-branded S-Class, the images seem to portray a Rolls-Royce Wraith competitor. The tag line is simply “Hot & cool – almost 6 metres of ultimate luxury”.

The concept is due to debut at Pebble Beach next week. The teaser image is the first indication of the shape and style. It’s 6 metre length makes it bigger than the long wheelbase S-Class and just 50 cm short of the Pullman. The design is low-slung, perhaps indicating a potential expansion of the Maybach range into a more sporting category.

The concept is not expected to reach production any time soon but will provide some indication of Mercedes’ plans for the German brand. Currently, the Maybach brand is only utilised within the S-Class. Rumours have suggested it could also be used on the GLS-Class as well as the S-Class Coupe, however, further plans are yet to be announced.

We will bring you further details once we hear more. For now, let us know what you think in the comments box below!
