The Bentley Mulsanne First Edition will make its global debut at the Beijing Auto Show this month. The handcrafted luxury coach will shine at the Bentley stand alongside the new Bentley Flying Spur V8 S and a one-off Bentley Bentayga by Mulliner.

Bentley’s pinnacle model range now features three different variants; the Mulsanne, the more dynamic Mulsanne Speed and the very luxurious Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase. The Mulsanne First Edition will be rolled out across all variants, and only 50 examples will be produced. What will make this limited production luxury coach so desirable? Well, for starters it boasts a bespoke Mulliner sterling silver vanity kit inlaid into the rear picnic table. The luxury vanity kit – created by Asprey of London – includes a mirror, hair brush and comb, all of which fit neatly into the unique Mulliner-design picnic table.

First Edition logos are incorporated throughout the luxurious interior, including embroidery on the seats and special tread plates. Celebrating the new flagship model, each Mulsanne First Edition is complimented by a specially engraved Bentley ‘Flying B’ bonnet ornament and customers that feel particularly flush, a champagne cooler can be installed upon request.

Visitors of Auto China are to be charmed by the Bentley Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase First Edition that is on display. This luxury coach in particular features a ripple-patterned Fulbeck veneer sourced from a 350-year-old English walnut tree. Bentley managed to get their hands on a batch of the extremely rare wood for an undisclosed price at an auction and say that it’s just enough to create veneer panels for a limited number of cars. The remaining First Edition models are available with a unique Antique Ash veneer.

Even without all the fancy styling and options that the First Edition brings to the extended wheelbase version of the Mulsanne, it is already at the top of the luxury range. The Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase celebrated its official debut just last month in Geneva and is designed to provide customers with a first-class air-travel experience for the road. The additional 250 mm of legroom in the back makes the Mulsanne EW the most spacious pinnacle luxury limousine in the world.

Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors, said: “The Mulsanne is the epitome of Bentley’s DNA – exquisite, individual and powerful. It defines luxury in the automotive world and offers the unique Bentley blend of luxury and performance.”
