Chevrolet has officially unveiled the latest and greatest version of the Camaro ZL1.

The 2017 Camaro ZL1 was designed to excel at everything according to official word from Chevy. And to start with, it certainly excels in the horsepower department. The 2017 ZL1 features a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine that produces a whopping 640 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque.

All of that power is transmitted to the road via either a six-speed manual or an all-new optional ten-speed automatic transmission.

In keeping with its performance pedigree, the ZL1 features Chevy’s Magnetic Ride suspension, Brembo brakes as well as an electronic limited-slip differential.

It appears as though interior changes are minimal compared to the previous generation of ZL1. Standard interior options include Recaro-designed sport seats, a race-inspired flat bottom steering wheel as well as red contrast stitching, ZL1 badging and a suede wrapped shifter.

Additional performance features include a Performance Traction Management System as well as launch control and a Drive Mode Selector which will allow drivers to customize their driving experience based on road conditions and desired performance capabilities.

The 2017 Camaro ZL1 will be hitting showrooms later this year. Pricing information has not been released yet, although we don’t expect pricing to be all that dissimilar to the previous generation of ZL1.
