Mercedes-AMG has officially unveiled the Mercedes-AMG C 43 AMG Coupe. The C 43 AMG Coupe slots into the range below the C 63 AMG Coupe, providing a lower cost performance alternative. It will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 next week.

At the heart of the new Mercedes-AMG C 43 is a 367 hp, 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine with a new 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. The ECU gives higher boost levels and torque is estimated at 520 Nm. Mercedes‑AMG GmbH chairman Tobias Moers has confirmed that a number of other Mercedes-AMG models will get ’43’ models.

From rest to 100 km/h, the C 43 manages a 4.7 second sprint and an electronically limited 250 km/h top speed. It comes with 4MATIC all wheel drive and a rear-biased torque distribution of 31 to 69 percent. The transmission gets a double-declutching function in the “Sport” and “Sport Plus” transmission mode with faster gearshifts in the “Eco” and “Comfort” modes too.

The sports suspension gets AMG RIDE CONTROL with a four-link front axle, special steering knuckles and load-bearing joints. AMG have also increased the negative camber on the front axle and on the multi-link rear axle. The automatic adjustable damping system is available in three suspension modes “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Sport Plus”. The transmission gets five modes including “Eco”, “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport Plus” and “Individual”.

In terms of styling, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 Coupé gets AMG styling with a new front apron, diamond meshes, silver chrome trim and a rear apron with a matt iridium silver diffuser. The C 43 Coupé gets black exterior mirror housings, a high-gloss black waistline trim strip and window frame and two chrome-plated tailpipes. An optional night package turns all the chrome parts black!

The wheels are AMG 5-spoke light-alloy wheels sized 7.5 x 18 light-alloy wheels at the front with 225/45 R 18 tyres and 8.5 x 18 wheels at the rear with 245/40 R 18 tyres. 19 inch wheels are available as an option.

Inside, the multifunction sports steering wheel gets black leather, a flattened bottom section and red contrasting topstitching. The seats are new with Artico and Dinamica microfibre upholstery shared with the rest of the cockpit. The interior gets red contrasting topstitching, designo red safety belts and black floor mats with red edging.
