The 48th edition of the Montreal International Auto Show 2016 took place from 15 to 24 January at the Palais des congrès de Montréal convention centre. More than 600 vehicles were on display from brands ranging from Kia and Subaru to Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

In addition to that, 53 national debuts took place and several of them were from exotic brands. Mercedes-Benz showcased the new C300, GLC300 and C 63 AMG, BMW brought the M2, M4 GTS and the new 7 Series to the event and Audi officially unveiled its new A4 and S8 to the Canadian public. Apart from that, at the Lamborghini stall there was the Aventador SV and the Huracan Spyder, Ferrari got the 488 GTB, McLaren dazzled the crowd with the 570S and the Porsche Macan GTS grabbed a lot of eyeballs.

There was a ‘Performance Zone’ which boasted 40 ludicrously tuned cars. Some of them included a 1969 Fiat 500, a 1937 Dodge pick-up and a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. There were also 13 electric cars that could be test driven free of charge. Meanwhile, although not celebrating their official launches, the Ferrari LaFerrari and Pagani Huayra were also drawing a large crowd.

Launched in 1969, the Montreal International Auto Show was instituted to increase the car sales initially but it has now become one of the most sought-after car-related events in Canada. It easily attracts over 200,000 visitors.
