Spy shots of Jaguar’s E-Pace have been captured while the car was undergoing cold weather testing.

The shots were captured by eagle-eyed spy photographers while the new E-Pace was undergoing development work in the frigid temperatures of the Article Circle. The E-Pace will be situated below the F-Pace in Jaguar’s line-up as a smaller alternative to Jaguar’s latest and greatest SUV.

While the spy shots don’t give us much of an idea of what the E-Pace will look like (it is being disguised under Range Rover Evoque body), it does give us confirmation that Jaguar is working on a smaller SUV. While Jaguar has yet to confirm any details regarding the E-Pace, it has been suggested that the new Crossover will ride on a modified version of the older Land Rover D8 platform. Using the same aluminum platform as the XE or F-Pace would likely be cost prohibitive.

The E-Pace will be competing directly against the likes of the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. No word on when we can expect to see an official unveiling of the car. Although many are suggesting that we won’t see the E-pace in dealerships until 2020 or later. We will keep you updated as we hear more!
