Entrepreneur and automotive designer Henrik Fisker will reveal a new car at the Detroit Motor Show 2016, called “The Force 1”. The details are a bit scarce about the supercar but Fisker has promised that it will be an “American take on a super sports car” and will feature the world’s “most powerful naturally aspirated engine”.

The Force 1 will see a rear-wheel drive configuration and customers will get option for a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Regarding the design, Fisker has stated that The Force 1 will get “powerful, dramatic sculptural exterior styling, Ultra Thin Ventilated (UTV) laser blade tail lamps and a luxurious contemporary interior for two people”. The body of the mid-engined supercar will be entirely made of carbon-fiber and 21-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tyres will ensure a menacing look.

Henrik Fisker is known for designing the Aston Martin DB9, V8 Vantage and the BMW Z8, while he also provided the initial blueprint for the Tesla Model S. He founded Fisker Automotive, which produced the Fisker Karma hybrid luxury car, before resigning from the company in 2013 owing to financial troubles. Fisker Automotive was sold to a Chinese conglomerate, Wanxiang, but Fisker made a comeback into the industry later on with Galpin Auto Sports by launching the Ford Mustang-based Fisker Rocket and Fisker Rocket Speedster Concept.

Earlier this year, the 52-year-old stated his intention to form a new automobile company and The Force 1 could be sold under this new enterprise. The production of Fisker’s latest project will commence from April 2016 and only 50 units will be produced annually, each to be sold at $300,000.
