Over the weekend, Silverstone Auctions hosted its NEC Classic Motor Show Sale which saw hundreds of cars and automotive memorabilia being sold from everything from signed photographs, watches, handbags and of course, a selection of cars.

The highlight of the auction was certainly a 1991 Jaguar XJ220 which crossed the auction block and sold for 315,000 pounds. This particular XJ220 was originally ordered and owned by the Royal family of Brunei and when it returned to the UK in 2002, it had very few miles on it and was in immaculate condition.

Another especially important element of this XJ220 is that it has been painted in Jaguar Metallic Green and at the time of auction, had travelled just 5782 miles. In August this year, it underwent a major service which included the removal of the engine and transmission as well as the replacement of belts, clutch, all fluids and filters.

Other impressive cars sold during the auction included a 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo Series I, a 1999 Ferrari F355, Porsche 911 S 2.4 Targa and a 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor replica.
