None of the world’s automakers are impervious to mandatory or optional recalls and Rolls-Royce has proven this with what could be the smallest recall ever with it affecting a single Rolls-Royce Ghost model produced on January 23, 2014.

According to the Rolls-Royce’s parent company BMW, the 2015 Ghost in question has thorax air bags fitted to the front seats which do not meet side impact performance requirements from front seat occupants.

In the event of a crash, the passengers are therefore at an increased risk of being injured, particularly in a side-on crash. As you’d expect, the British marque will install fully-functional airbags into this Ghost free of charge.

It remains to be seen how Rolls-Royce discovered the issue almost two years after the car was produced and why just one Ghost has the faulty air bags.
