Just after it emerged that the Mercedes-Benz GLC has yet to be confirmed to include a 63 AMG variant, the upcoming GLC450 AMG Coupe has been spied in the midst of testing. Set to take the fight to the Audi SQ5, the latest AMG Sport model from the German marque will include a number of visual changes and performance modifications to separate it from lesser variants.

This particular prototype can be seen sporting a more aggressive front bumper inevitably supporting enlarged air intakes and covered in white and black camouflage. Additionally, the presence of black tape on the headlights suggests that they will be tweaked for the GLC450 AMG Coupe, most likely with black housings.

Elsewhere, the test mule is rolling on a set of multi-spoke AMG wheels and the entire rear fascia is wrapped in camouflage. This suggests that some rather significant changes are in the works for the rear end with a new diffuser and taillpipes among the inevitable changes.

Beneath the skin, the car will be powered by the same 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine delivering 367 hp as both the C450 AMG Sport and GLE450 AMG Sport. Consequently, it should pump out an identical 367 hp.
