Video: LaFerrari v McLaren P1 v Porsche 918 at the Drag Strip

Not long after Supercar Driver became the first group to organise a track test between the McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder, the supercar club has released a clip of the hybrid hypercar trio battling it out at the Santa Pod drag strip in the United Kingdom.

Unfortunately for the day of filming, the drag strip was slightly wet therefore adversely affecting all three of the cars but in particular the rear-wheel drive Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder.

At the end of the test and after multiple runs in each car, the Porsche 918 Spyder predictably came out on top thanks to its advanced all-wheel drive system. Its best run was a 10.65 second sprint at 142.46 mph. Meanwhile, the P1 came home second fastest with a 10.90 at 145.16 mph while the best the LaFerrari could achieve was an 11.21 at 142.47 mph.

Due to the conditions however, we can’t really draw any conclusions from this video. In previous magazine tests, the LaFerrari has recorded a 9.7 second quarter mile, the P1 a 9.8 second run and the 918 Spyder also a 9.8 second sprint.
