Ahead of the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport’s debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2015 next month, it has emerged that the track-only Cayman will be priced from $165,000 excluding taxes. That means that in the United States, it will almost cost double the road-going Cayman GT4.

Powering the Cayman GT4 Clubsport will be the same 3.8-litre flat-six engine of the road car producing the same 385 hp. Importantly however, the six-speed manual gearbox will be replaced with a dual-clutch transmission sending power to the rear through a mechanical locking differential. It is reported that a PDK option will soon be made available for the Cayman GT4 road car.

Elsewhere, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport will come equipped with the front suspension and axle components of the 911 GT3 Cup car with 380 mm discs featured at all four corners. Further changes will include a racing bucket seat, six-point harness and a roll cage. All up, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport will weigh 1300 kg.

A number of options will be available for the Cayman GT4 Clubsport consisting of air jacks, Recaro bucket seats and a spare parts package priced at around $9000-10,000.

The car will compete in the likes of the Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy, Pirelli World Challenge and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.
