Video: Porsche 911 GT3 RS Roars With Akrapovic Exhaust

A brand new 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS has just been fitted with an all-new Akrapovic exhaust system in the United States.

Currently, the Slovenian exhaust manufacturer offers two systems for the new 911 GT3 RS. These are the Evolution and Evolution Race series’. Starting with the Evolution setup, it is made from lightweight titanium and therefore weighs 4 kg less than the standard system. It also includes controllable valves and adds 10 hp at 8000 rpm and 20 lb-ft at 3853 rpm to the GT3 RS’s 4.0-litre flat-six engine.

As for the Evolution Race line, it weighs an incredible 22.2 kg less than the stock exhaust while providing an additional 20 hp and 37 lb-ft of torque. Importantly, it isn’t street legal and instead focused specifically on track use.

Both systems can be optioned with link pipes and sports catalytic converters and joined with ECU remaps.
