Just after being priced in the United Kingdom, BMW has confirmed that the recently revealed 2016 M4 GTS will cost 146,200 euros in Germany.

It remains to be seen how many units of the M4 GTS will be available in Germany. However, we do know that 700 examples will be available worldwide with 300 of those going to the United States and just 30 heading to the United Kingdom. With its 146,200 euro price tag, the M4 GTS becomes the most expensive BMW production car ever, eclipsing the M3 GTS by 5750 euros.

On an engine front, the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine has been outfitted with water injection technology, just like the BMW M4 MotoGP Safety Car. Thanks to this technology as well as a range of other engine modifications, power rises from 425 hp up to 493 hp (500 PS). Additionally, torque now sits at 442 lb-ft meaning the 2016 BMW M4 GTS can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and onto a limited 305 km/h top speed. The car also managed to lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 7:28.

Elsewhere, a new three-way M coilover suspension system has been installed into the M4 GTS enabling for a range of customisation options and dramatically improved handling over the standard car. To cater for the extra speed provided by the M4 GTS, new lightweight M carbon ceramic brakes come standard. The seven-speed double-clutch transmission has also been optimised.
