A Maserati GranTurismo has been badly damaged after crashing last week at the Univerity of Cape Town in South Africa, as reported by News 24.

The Italian sports car crashed at the university’s Hiddingh campus and smashed through a fence before coming to a rest against a concrete wall off to the side of the road.

Prior to the crash, university staff claim that they saw the GranTurismo speeding around the local area. Interestingly, both the driver and passenger of the car abandoned it after the crash leading to claims that alcohol was involved.

The image above shows that the car has sustained quite a lot of damage from the crash. The front end has come off worse for wear while both sides have also been wrecked. It also seems likely that the underside of the car has been battered from the impact.
