A documentary about the life of Bruce McLaren is currently being produced by the New Zealand Film Commission and will be directed by Roger Donaldson.

The documentary will become just the latest film based around the life of an automotive icon with two Enzo Ferrari biopics already in the works. It remains to be seen how much of the documentary has been produced thus far but it is scheduled for a release in 2016 and will appropriately be dubbed McLaren.

It is reported that the documentary will both look at the racing career of the New Zealander as well as the automotive brand named after him. McLaren himself raced both in Formula One and Can-Am and was killed at the age of 32 while testing a Can-Am racer at Southern England’s Goodwood Circuit.
